Abstract: | This chapter analyses the elusive search for post-war reconciliation between former White Rhodesians and the ZANU-PF Black elite that got into power in 1980 after many years of antagonism. It also critiques ZAPU’s and ZANU-PF’s antagonistic relations of the pre-independence era that were transposed into the post-independence era, resulting in the dissident menace and the Gukurahundi phenomenon in Matabeleland and the Midlands regions. |
