dc.description.abstract | Companiees strive to be competitive in the products they produce in both the domectic and export market. It is easy to penetrate in the doemstic market than it is in the export market as companies will be operating within extremely diverse economic condotions. Exports ares vital for the business and thecountry at large. It is in this view that this research focuses on the decline of the export market for Delta Beverages KweKwe Maltings.Data was collectec through interviews, questionnaires and from finnacial statements of the entity. It was further anlaysed to reach certain conclusion. The findings of this study inidicate that the Maltings business faces challenges of low capacity utilisation emanating from low export sales caused by uncompetitive malt price. Absorption cost per unit is high and the major raw material for barley malting, barley, is costly compared to the average price within the region. The cost of the product is further upped by offsite storage and transportation costs as the entity has no enough storage for barley. Therefore the cost of sale for Kwekwe Maltings is essential for the entity to be profitable. | en_US |
