Abstract: This article discusses the role of technology in evidence gathering for&#xD;
cases of fraud, drawing reference from the Bulawayo Central Business&#xD;
District (CBD) in Zimbabwe. The research was inspired by the&#xD;
continued and endless occurrence of a plethora of scandalous fraud&#xD;
cases in the Bulawayo CBD. A mixed-method approach was adopted&#xD;
with a pragmatic philosophy. The approach gave inductive and&#xD;
deductive reasoning to conclude the relationship between technology&#xD;
and fraud. In this view, an exploratory design was used. The target&#xD;
population was mainly police officers and magistrates in the&#xD;
Bulawayo CBD. A questionnaire was used as an instrument to gather&#xD;
data, whilst Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was&#xD;
used for data analysis. Research results revealed that there is a&#xD;
positive relationship between the use of technology and the&#xD;
detection and prevention of fraud cases in the Bulawayo CBD. It was&#xD;
also established that fraudulent activities in the Bulawayo CBD&#xD;
encompassed both direct and indirect forms and the most prevalent&#xD;
fraud activities emanated from e-banking and were committed&#xD;
mostly by employees. The study recommends that there a need to&#xD;
continually train law enforcement agents, judicial officials and&#xD;
company staff on the use of technological tools and ways of detecting&#xD;
the current modus operandi of criminals about fraud-related&#xD;
activities.</summary>

Abstract: The rate of strategy implementation failure in organisation is so worrisome that various forms of&#xD;
interventions are necessary to curtail the situation. This paper reviews related literature on the role of&#xD;
training and development in the implementation of strategies in organisations. The author discusses&#xD;
how training and development function affects the human related critical success factors relevant for&#xD;
strategy implementation in organisations. These are employee motivation, attitudes, commitment,&#xD;
engagement, coordination, performance and employee retention, which are important in the exercise.&#xD;
From the review it emerged that training and development significantly influences strategy&#xD;
implementation in terms of these critical factors. The study therefore, concludes that training and&#xD;
development is an important factor to be considered for the successful implementation of any strategic&#xD;
exercise in organisations.</summary>

    <summary type="text">Title: An evaluation of the process of strategic management in urban councils in Zimbabwe

Abstract: The study sought to evaluate the process of strategic management in urban councils in Zimbabwe. This was in response to notable failure in service delivery by these key institutions in the country. A quantitative research approach was used in the study with a population of 3031. Using a cluster sampling technique, a sample size of 341 professional employees was drawn, using the Krejcie Morgan sample size determination table. Data was collected using a questionnaire after having been pilot-tested.  and the reliability was tested through internal consistency, where Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient of above 0.7 confirmed the reliability of the research instrument. Data analysis was done using an SPSS version 23. Descriptive statistical techniques which include mean, standard deviation, frequency, and percentages were used in the analysis of data. The elements of the strategic management process which are strategic intent, strategy formulation, and strategy implementation were used as variables for evaluation. The findings of the study revealed poor compliance with the process of strategic management by urban councils in Zimbabwe. The results indicate a lack of strategic management practice in urban councils in Zimbabwe thus confirming their notable poor performance in terms of service delivery. It is therefore recommended that in practicing strategic management, urban councils in Zimbabwe comply with its process for enhanced performance.</summary>

Abstract: The failure rate of strategy implementation in both public and private-owned organisations is a cause&#xD;
for concern across the globe. Extant literature reveals that almost 70% of the formulated strategies do&#xD;
not successfully get implemented by organisations for various reasons. Therefore, this paper reviewed&#xD;
literature on psychological factors affecting strategy implementation in organisations. The results of&#xD;
the review revealed employee motivation, commitment, competence, perception and attitudes as the&#xD;
main psychological variables which have an impact on strategy implementation in organisations.&#xD;
Thus, it demonstrated that psychological factors are also key determinants in any strategy&#xD;
implementation exercise in all organisations. It is, therefore recommended that, for a successful&#xD;
strategy implementation initiative in an organisation, psychological factors have to be considered.</summary>
